The Forest Resources Association will hold a The Role of Forests in Climate Change Mitigation—A Review of FIA Data webinar on February 7th at 2 pm EST.
As climate change continues to be an issue being discussed by policymakers at the federal and state levels, trees and forests are being looked upon to mitigate climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In the United States, trees in settlements, along with forests and the harvested wood products obtained from them, offset the equivalent of more than 11 percent of economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions each year.
How are human activities and natural disturbances contributing to changes in tree population dynamics and forest carbon in the US? This webinar will tackle these questions in the context of a changing climate and discuss challenges and opportunities within the forestland sector moving forward.
