SciTech Café will hold Using Community Science to Understand Bird Migration and How We Can Protect Birds program at the Abandoned Building Brewery in Easthampton on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6 to 8 pm.

In this program, Ted Gilliland from Mount Holyoke will discuss

  • How far do the birds we see in the Northeast migrate?
  • Why do some birds make such difficult migratory journeys (e.g., flying three days nonstop over the western Atlantic Ocean)?
  • What do birds do when they run into storms while they’re migrating?
