Many reptiles rely on springtime pools for mating and breeding. These wet areas are critical habitat for the reproduction of species like frogs, salamanders, snakes, and turtles.

Vermont Land Trust will hold a Vernal Pools & Amphibians webinar on April 9th from 7 – 8:30 pm EDT.

Herpetologist Jim Andrews will discuss which reptiles and amphibians use Vermont vernal pools. He will give you tools to identify different reptiles and amphibians, and discuss the natural history, distribution, and status of vernal pool-loving species.

Ecologist Allaire Diamond will discuss how these sensitive habitats are handled in VLT’s conservation easements.
