The Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary in Wales will hold a program on Biodiversity Hotspots: Vernal Pools, Wildlife and Citizen Science on Saturday, March 9th, from 1:30 to 3 pm.

Vernal pools are really neat, small ecosystems that support tremendous biodiversity. Matt Byrne, co-author of A Field Guide to Animals of Vernal Pools, will discuss the wildlife that can be found in a typical southern-New England vernal pool and how to improve your recognition of these important habitats.

He will discuss the many threats that vernal pools face, and ways that the general public can make significant and valuable contributions to the long-term protection of the biodiversity of vernal pools.

To register for the program, email lectures@norcrosswildlife.org or call 413 267-9654.
