Trillium are common spring ephemerals

Spring ephemeral wildflowers provide a burst of beauty in early spring before the new leaves of the forest shade them out.

Hilltown Land Trust will hold a Spring Ephemeral Wildflower Walk & Talk on Round Top Hill in Chester lead by field biologist and educator Nicole Rhodes.

The short, but moderately difficult hike will lead us up a mountain, where we will explore the wildflowers blooming there in mid-May. Pack your lunch and enjoy a picnic with a view from the top of Round Top Hill, the highest point in Hampden County! We will walk through an amazing shagbark hickory forest with an understory of grasses and ferns.

Bring your wildflower guides if you have them, and, of course, your cameras and spray for ticks.
