Non-native upland invasive plants pose a serious threat to forest productivity and natural environments in New Hampshire.

UNH Extension will hold a free Using Herbicides to Manage Upland Invasive Plants workshop at the Bedford Public Library in Bedford, NH on August 8th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm

This workshop focuses on using herbicides as part of an integrated pest management approach to controlling upland non-native invasive plant species in New Hampshire.

The first half of this program will be an indoor discussion covering integrated pest management, weed ecology, herbicide application techniques, and specific treatments for common upland invasive species.

The second half of the program will be a hands-on field session with demonstrations of various application techniques including foliar, basal bark, cut stump, and hack-and-squirt.

What to Bring:   

Lunch, comfortable shoes, clothes appropriate for the field (sun and bug protection), hat, water bottle.

This event is free, but space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., the program begins promptly at 9:30.
