The UMass Building & Construction Technology Program will host a Climate Smart Forests and Green Construction: Designing with Biogenic Carbon to Achieve Climate Positive Structures program on October 18th from 4 to 5:15 pm.  The program will be both online and in person in Room 170.

This presentation by Peter Pinchot from Whole Forests is about a new approach to forest product consumption that perpetuates rainforest conservation.  Global forests are both sources of emissions and can promote carbon capture and storage. Mr. Pinchot will introduce the range of available biogenic building materials from agriculture and forestry with a special focus on tropical forests.
