The Ichauway Center will hold a Manipulating Mesopredator Populations to Benefit Native Prey webinar on October 12th from 2 to 3 pm EDT

Despite numerous studies evaluating mesocarnivore population reduction as a tool for managing wild prey populations, there remains much more controversy associated with efficacy of the practice.

This webinar by Ichauway’s Dr. Mike Connor will explore existing data to better understand this controversy. Important questions for determining when predators may limit a population will be discussed. Finally, the webinar will provide criteria that may be Touseful for predicting efficacy of predator population manipulations for increasing prey populations.

This webinar will discuss reasons that predator population manipulation is controversial as a prey management tool and will provide suggestions for predicting when predator manipulations are likely to benefit native prey.
