The Vermont Woodlands Association will hold a How We Pay Loggers and Why it Matters program on August 6th from 9 am to noon at 652 Stony Brook Road in Northfield, Vermont.

This program will cover the pros and cons of traditional stumpage and percentage pay systems and also TBHL’s alternative by the thousand payment system. It will look at goals, outcomes, financial ramifications, and impacts on woodlot ecology.

It will discuss the short- and long-term ramifications of an industry-wide switch to an alternative payment model for loggers, with a particular emphasis on evolving woodlot management goals held by today’s Vermont landowners.

We invite loggers, foresters, landowners, and any else who has interest in talking about this topic.
