Franklin Land Trust will hold a free Managing Invasive Plants Workshop for Landowners on Sunday, October 15th at Maple Run Farm in Leyden from 10 am to noon.

This workshop, presented by Chris Polatin of Polatin Ecological Services,  is intended for people who manage and care for lands who want to increase their applied knowledge regarding the identification, mapping, planning, prioritization and management of invasive plants in forests, fields and wetlands  We will use ongoing invasive management activities at John & Barbara Wallace’s Maple Run Farm as a basis for discussion and demonstration of common issues that arise in efforts to manage invasive plants, and will invite and encourage questions and requests for topical discussions. We will emphasize methods and tools that can be accomplished by landowners as well as those projects that may need outside assistance such as dealing with the Wallace’s organic hay fields.

Please call 774-7780 to say you are coming!
