Are your woods bird-friendly?  Can you benefit woodland birds while caring for your land?

The Fall River Water Department, Mass Audubon, and the Department of Conservation & Recreation will hold a Massachusetts Woodland Birds tour at Copicut Reservoir in North Dartmouth on May 30th from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

On this tour, Fall River Water Department forester Michael Labossiere and bird expert Jeff Ritterson will lead a walk through the woodlands at Copicut Reservoir in search of forest songbirds.  The woodlands at Copicut Reservoir are being managed to enhance habitat for forest birds.  Labossiere and DCR Service foresters will explain how similar practices can help other landowners improve their woods to provide better breeding habitat for bird species which now lack sufficient habitat.

Participants should dress for the weather and bring water for a moderate hike over uneven terrain.

To participate, RSVP by calling Mike Downey at 413 212-3039 or email Michael.downey@state.ma.us
