Releasing Mast Trees workshop

Vermont Woodlands Association will hold a Releasing Mast Trees workshop at Yaledale Tree Farm in Derby, VT on May 9^th from 10 am to 2 pm

At this workshop, Allen Yale, VT Tree Farmer, and Jared Nunery, Orleans County Forester, will demonstrate the silvicultural practice of releasing red oaks to promote acorn production to provide food for wildlife.

Other mast producers like cherry and beech will also be covered.

Other topics that will be discussed are habitat management promoting early forest, and management strategies to assist forest adaptation to the rapidly changing climate.

Dress for the weather and take precautions against ticks.
