What will become of your woods when you are no longer able to care for them?  Are you planning to transfer or sell them to a family member?  Have you developed a plan for how to do this to minimize the tax consequences?

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources’ Agricultural Business Training Program will hold a Planning for the Next Successor on Your Farm workshop on Tuesday, January 22nd, at the Boyden Library in Foxborough from 5 to 7 p.m. to help farmers (and woodland owners) better understand what is involved in succession planning.

Experts from Land for Good and MDAR will provide tools and resources – including the state’s  Agricultural Preservation Restriction (APR) Program - to help you identify the next owner of the farm and take steps towards making the transition.

To register for this workshop, email Dorothy Du at Dorothy.Du@mass.gov– please include how many people will be attending from your farm.
