Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) will lead a free Tree Identification Hike at the Betty Maitland Memorial Forest in Heath, MA on Sunday, June 8th, at 10 am
This informative and engaging event will last approximately two hours and will involve slow-paced stops along the way. Participants will be outdoors for the duration of the walk, so appropriate attire for that day’s weather is recommended.
On this guided hike, participants will learn key characteristics of trees commonly encountered in Western Massachusetts. Led by a Berkshire naturalist and tree enthusiast, the walk will include tips and tricks for recognizing tree species throughout the year, regardless of whether leaves are present.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Heath Public Library and the Franklin Land Trust and is free and open to the public.
