The Western Mass. Tree Wardens Spring Dinner Meeting will be held at the Bluebonnet Restaurant in Northampton on Tuesday, March 12th from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Meet and network with tree wardens, tree companies, and utility arborists at the spring gathering of the Western Mass. chapter.
The meeting will include two short programs:
Managing Roadside Tree Mortality – Mollie Freilicher, DCR, Paul Sellars, Eversource, and Lance Wade, National Grid
Trees across the state are dying from gypsy moth, drought, and emerald ash borer. Learn about the issue and what communities can do to manage roadside trees in these challenging times. Learn about how this is impacting utilities and how to work with your utility arborist.
Energy Benefits of Trees – Ben Weil, UMass Extension Professor
Learn about the utility cost savings and electrical grid management benefits associated with trees planted in the urban environment.
