The Department of Conservation & Recreation”s Service Forestry Program will hold 10 Chapter 132 workshops for licensed timber harvesters between June 3rd and June 27th. The workshops will provide training in the Forest Cutting Practices regulations under Chapter 132 that is required for harvesters to maintain their licenses.
Each workshop will have review the Chapter 132 Rules & Regulations and provide updates
A Chapter 132 workshop will be held at the Holman Tree Farm on Kessler Road in Lanesborough on June 9th from 2 to 5 pm.
The workshop will discuss Land Use History & Forest Composition, Breeding Bird Habitat, Emerald Ash Borer, Forestry BMPs, and State Land Protection programs.
Parking for this workshop will be at the Phelps Farm on Kessler Road. Access to the farm is via rough roads and participants should be prepared to walk 1.5 miles on trails and in the woods.
