The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Service Forestry Program will hold a workshop for licensed timber harvesters on Chapter 132 Forest Cutting Practices regulations at the Athol Public Library on May 31st from noon to 3 p.m. 

Licensed harvesters are required to take 9 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their license, including 3 hours on Massachusetts forestry laws and regulations.  Attending one of the DCR workshops will meet the 3 hour forestry laws and regulations requirement.

The May 31st workshop will review the Forest Cutting Practices Act regulations and BMPs, provide an update on White Pine forest health, and discuss why wetlands are good for a changing climate.
