The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Service Forestry Program will hold a workshop for licensed timber harvesters on Chapter 132 Forest Cutting Practices regulations at the Palmer Library at 1455 North Main Street in Palmer on June 7th from 2 to 5 pm.
Licensed harvesters are required to take 9 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their license, including 3 hours on Massachusetts forestry laws and regulations. Attending one of the DCR workshops will meet the 3 hour forestry laws and regulations requirement.
The workshop will include a review of the Chapter 132 regulations and BMPs with Natural Heritage and an update on state lands management.
